7 - 8pm : “Simulating Physics with Flash”

Alec Cove will present Flade (Flash Dynamics Engine), his open source actionscript 2.0 library for simulating 2D physics using Verlet integration. It currently features rectangular, circular and wheel primitives; spring and angular constraints; and surfaces composed of line segments, circles and rectangles. Designed primarily for games with a goal of speed, Flade is easy to use and is MTASC-strict compatible.

Roger Braunstein will discuss the Fuse Kit actionscript library created by Moses Gunesch. Fuse is a set of utilities that take an object-oriented approach to code-based animation in Flash, with add-on options that make it extremely easy for beginners to use while providing class authors with a professional grade toolset. Roger will provide an overview of Fuse and demonstrate how he leveraged the toolkit when developing the Food Network site “Eat This with Dave Lieberman.”
